Donovan George Bio

Donovan “Da Bomb” George compiled an amateur boxing record 28-4 with 25 KOS and won four Chicago Golden Glove Titles. He reached the National Golden Gloves quarter finals only to lose via a highly controversial split decision.

Soon after, George decided it was time to follow his dream and become a professional boxer and declared war on every boxer in the Super Middleweight division.

On April 1, 2011, in Chicago, George won the IBF/USBA Super Middleweight Championship via KO 8 over Maxell “The General” Taylor, who was expected to give George a very hard fight and possibly beat him. From the first round George beat Taylor to the punch and showed his superiority and over the remaining rounds, taking his opponent apart and mercilessly.

On February 11, 2011, George came to Atlantic City, New Jersey where he took on the undefeated and murderous “KO” puncher, Cornelius White at Bally’s Casino. The fight was shown live on the world-famous boxing series ShoBox: The New Generation and also in front of a packed live attendance of fanatical Greek and Irish sports fans who witnessed “DA BOMB” sensationally destroy White and knock him out within two minutes of the first round.

George has been featured on premium TV networks such as Showtime, ESPN, Versus and on the undercards of several Pay Per Views. He is now ranked #4 in the IBF.
